Refining cooperative session hosting

We're deep in a reliability pass on Ashen Crown's cooperative multiplayer — making sure hosting a session for 1 to 3 players is smooth and consistent across different setups. Less exciting than a new boss, but exactly the kind of work that makes co-op feel solid on release.

A full settings menu, done right

Ashen Crown now has a complete settings system covering display, graphics (including modern upscaling options), audio, controls and gameplay. Full keybind remapping is in too, with icons that adapt automatically to keyboard or gamepad — including recognizing which gamepad you're using.

Two schools of magic, memorized at the bonfire

Spellcasting in Ashen Crown now runs on a memorization system inspired by classic dark fantasy RPGs. Two schools — Résonance and Écoute — offer very different playstyles, and Écoute spells behave differently depending on whether it's day or night in Valdenmoor.

Day and night, for real this time

Valdenmoor now has a true day/night cycle with gradual light and color shifts — not just a skybox trick. It ties directly into gameplay, since certain spells and enemies behave differently depending on the time of day.

First boss

Meet — Ashen Crown's first fully realized named boss, built with poise, directional hit reactions and satisfying hitstop feedback. Lock-on targeting was also finished around this milestone, making one-on-one duels feel much more precise.
